A 14K gold chain, 12 g
Under 25 g of gold, so the under-25 g rate applies: 12 × the 14K rate.
$1,082.04Short answer: multiply the payable weight in grams by FairGold’s current per-gram rate for its karat. Gold is paid by tier on the total gold weight you bring in: 50 g or more earns the highest rate, then 25 to 50 g, then under 25 g. Today, 14K gold pays $93.92 per gram at 50 g or more and $90.17 per gram under 25 g.

Pick each item’s metal and karat and enter its weight in grams. Not sure of the karat? Check the stamp: 417 = 10K, 585 = 14K, 750 = 18K, 916 = 22K. Add every gold item you plan to bring, because the tier is set by the total.
This is an estimate from today’s posted rates, not an offer. The amount you are paid is set at the counter after free XRF testing and weighing of the payable metal, in front of you. Stones, steel parts and other non-precious components are not paid as gold or silver.
Each figure below is calculated from the current rates in the table further down, and updates with them.
Under 25 g of gold, so the under-25 g rate applies: 12 × the 14K rate.
$1,082.04Under 25 g: 8 × the 18K rate.
$945.5238 g of gold in total, so both karats move up to the 25–50 g rate.
$2,928.5650 g or more, so the whole lot is paid at the highest 14K rate.
$5,635.20450 g of 925 sterling silverware at the per-gram silverware rate. Knife blades and fillers are weighed out.
$603.00The same rates the calculator uses, in Canadian dollars. Gold is shown for each volume tier; bullion lines are bars and coins of investment-grade metal.

Stones, enamel, steel or magnetic clasps and watch movements are removed or deducted. Gold clasps, solder and jump rings count as gold.
XRF testing reads the actual alloy. A piece that tests at 17.1K is paid at 17.1K, not rounded down to 14K.
All gold you bring in one visit is added together, so a few extra grams can move everything to a better rate.
